Scott Brown founded Volant's predecessor in 2000 to pursue growth company acquisitions and investments, and is currently co-founder and chairman of two portfolio companies. Until early 2000, he was a Director in corporate finance and M&A in the Houston office of Credit Suisse First Boston. From 1993-96, he was in corporate finance and M&A in the New York office of Lehman Brothers, and from 1990-93, he was in the Houston and Dallas offices of the investment banking group of NationsBank, a predecessor to Bank of America. From 1987-89, he was in equity research and portfolio management with the asset management and research firm A. Gary Shilling & Co. He has managed over $4.5 billion in M&A transactions and over $6 billion in financing transactions for growth-oriented businesses. He received his MBA and BBA degrees from the University of Texas.
